I was
asked to restore this RD250A engine that had been dismantled many years
ago and left in damp conditions to gradually rust away. It was not a complete engine and also came with a RD250B/C/D parts bin engine to use as salvage
Very rust bearing carriers
Seized gear selectors
All casings were badly corroded, pitted and some covered in deep scratches
Head corroded and furred up, quite pitted too
Some internals had been in plastic bags and had survived the damp but cogs badly worn
Engine casing vapour blasted by Peterborough Plating
Almost like new
Crank
fully rebuilt, Gear selectors and gear shafts totally dismantled and
rebuilt from non worn bits from both engines where they were the same.
All new bearings and seals fitted
Cases assembled, gear selection checked ok
Ready for alternator and sprocket
New nuts and bolts
Clutch checked and broken and worn plates replaced
Engine cases just painted
